Ingredients
  

  • 1500 g canned tomatoes
  • 450 g vegetable stock
  • 30 g butter
  • 30 g sugar
  • 3 tsp minced onion
  • 1 pinch baking soda
  • 550 g half-and-half or light cream

Method
 

  1. Mix all ingredients in a pot and simmer for 1 hour.
  2. Turn off the heat and slowly add the half-and-half or light cream.

Notes

The amounts are mere suggestions. You can get away with four 14.5-oz cans or two 28-oz cans of tomatoes, for example, rather than the 1500 grams, or a pint of light cream rather than the 550 grams.
