We draw organization information from a variety of sources. We screen organizations to ensure that they are trying to make the world a better place without punching down.
Some organizations are religiously affiliated, but we only include those that only impose their religious views on members. This means that any exemptions the organization might claim from anti-discrimination laws are limited to members of the religious community with which the organization identifies. For example, religiously affiliated hospitals will not impose any doctrinal restrictions on medical care except for patients subscribing to the same religion as the hospital.
Charity Navigator
Some organization information is provided by Charity Navigator. In particular, the “Charity Navigator Ratings” are provided as-is by Charity Navigator. The city, state, and cause of the organization as provided by Charity Navigator are added to the organization’s tags. Other information from Charity Navigator is used during the import process, but is reviewed and revised before being displayed.
Charity Navigator is not affiliated with Bene Homini and is not responsible for any mistakes or omissions.
